here

What do men think if their DW asks them to buy them a vibrator or suggests using one while making love?

Is it embarrassing or a turn on? Would you feel your performance was being criticised in some way?

My DH did buy me one and enjopys using it with me

DearHusband · 21/02/2008 23:36

Depends really, I guess after 12+ years of happy bedroom fun "Buy me a 12 inch rubber willy" might be a little off putting.

However, "Lets have some new kinds of fun." is a different proposition and is less likely to give your DH some severe insecuritites :D

Quite a lot of blokes love to watch a woman play with herself. Also, a lot of the more effective vibrators don't look like cocks at all (and the ones that look like corpsecocks generally don't appeal that much to women).

DaddyJ · 22/02/2008 09:21

Depends on the context.
If your sex life is non-existent and suddenly the wife suggests
'how about a nice big dildo?', that might send the wrong message.

In general, though, can't see anything wrong with the idea.

a man I was seeing bought one for me years ago.
T'was a good thing and I've yet to meet a man since who disagreed...

chrissnow · 22/02/2008 09:44

My DH suggested the idea. We popped along to a sex shop (why oh why did we not go on-line ). DH looked petrified once he saw some of what was on offer. I think being compared to something neon and 12 inches long is a bit much for the male ego to take!!! The chap in the shop was sooooo nice. In a most unembarrassing way (don't know how he managed - I guess its his living though) he made a suggestion as to what would be a good place to start. And he even knocked 50% off the price 'cus he said we were so keen and looked really sweet!!! Bless him. He was bloody right though. Brilliant thing!!!!

mrsmalumbas · 22/02/2008 09:57

I agree with madamez the cock-like ones are most offputting - they make me think of large gay australian men.

But the smaller more tasteful ones - quite nice. I asked my DH to buy one and bless him, he did, but the one he bought I am not keen on. I do think he was embarassed buying it which is odd as he is quite a broad minded sort of fellow. But I don't think he saw it as any slur on his masculinity. I think most women don't use them as alternatives to actual sex, more of an added extra.

Anyway why are you asking - has your wife asked you to buy one??!

StubbleOnChin · 21/11/2008 23:52

Always a topical point in our abode! I am afraid DW started the trend by suggesting i buy her one, trouble is she has worn it out on several occasions so i find myself in the street outlets more frequently . In our favour though we know get discount. Online is better if you have actually seen it in the flesh (so to speak). Too much info imo, g'nite.

tdotb · 01/12/2008 22:28

want to know what men think when they find their wifes vibrator in the laundry after they haven't so much as kissed in 9 years?

WhiteCrispAnEvenStubbleonchin · 13/12/2008 01:22

Maybe, it got tangled in the night robe tie as part of the earlier nights exuberance (with no kissing of course). Or maybe the thought of silicone slighlty warmed by the gentle action of natural washing soda's will lend itself to a more natural feel? or maybe you do the washing often and she wanted you to ask the question to yourself?! to then ask..........
