OK I know this is a boring as 'running out of milk on a freezing cold morning, when your in dire need of a coffee' (maybe even more boring than that)

BUT I think I'm missing a gene, I CANNOT buy gifts for men.

What is something a man would like for a birthday gift?

who is not into sport!

Please save him from more socks, that is what he got for Christmas I know

How about a romantic meal and a night in a nice hotel with his beautiful wife and no children waking you up in the morning?

PippiCalzelunghe · 29/01/2008 11:01

what does he like?

Uki · 29/01/2008 12:26

I think we'd both like night/dinner out, but can't happen with 2 very LO's, thanks anyway.

That's just it, I know what he doesn't like sport, music (he used to play) not really into cars either.

He does like computer games, but gets these free. maybe a really good book???? I guess he likes gadgets, but lack of liking music other than his own means no need for ipod.

He sounds really boring huh? he's not really though

What is your budget approximatly?

PippiCalzelunghe · 29/01/2008 12:33

Same problem here. I never seem to get it right and he doesn't want anything. This year I got him [[http://www.livingitup.co.uk/hot_products.html this] as he likes his naps and garden is big enough now (and I can use it too ). will give it to him next week so don't know about reaction.

iPod Touch - does so much more than iPod and will do more and more as software gets upgraded over the coming months. It's the business gadget-wise

Uki · 29/01/2008 12:38

Pippi -that looks cool, but we have a brazilian

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 29/01/2008 12:39

what's a brazilian?

Uki · 29/01/2008 12:43

Oh it's just a little sad really, when we were first together we used to be so good at giving each other cool things, but both of us are just crap at it now.

I guess that's part of growing old

PippiCalzelunghe · 29/01/2008 12:47

we are crap too and have not been together that long... even more !

do you use it? (the brazilian)

Uki · 29/01/2008 12:56

Yes we put it up the other day as ds wanted to get in it. Hammocks are great, I like to sit in it with the baby too, so relaxing.

Dh and i have been together 12 years this year, it goes so quick, anniversary and valentines day comming up soon too.......arrgh i'll never think of anything for then either.

PippiCalzelunghe · 29/01/2008 16:30

luckily we don't do presents on anniversaries etc, the present is to get to go out the two of us ALONE!

I am glad about the hammock, we had one when kids and loved it. I have this vision of me and DD or the baby in it all through the summer!

Uki: "Pippi -that looks cool, but we have a brazilian"

Just the one between you? How does that work - one side each?

missingtheaction · 29/01/2008 17:39

one of those 'experiences' - hot air balloon, driving a porsche or tank round a race track; magazine subscription; home cooked version of dinner at a good restaurant - really fancy menu, fab bottle of wine etc etc?

Gimli · 29/01/2008 21:45

You say he makes music? Equipment?
An experience cooked up around something he likes could work. Best present I got from DW was a weekend at Newmarket, including a trip to watch the horses on the gallops with the wife of a chap who worked at a big yard. Also included a trip to said yard plus entry to the course and tour with former jockey. Fantastic. You say no sport, but some sort of trip around something he does like would work wonders. Could you arrange something with musical venue?
