alright fellow dads

Its my sons first birthday coming up and I want to get him something memorable, that he can hold onto and it mean something to him later down the line as his first birthday present from his dad

Unfortunately I'm totally stumped for ideas, probably because I'm over thinking it but if anyone has ideas or can share what they did I'd appreciate it

Cheers, hope everyone is doing ok out there

Not a dad but if I was starting again with my boys I’d either do £100 premium bonds for each birthday or an investment bottle of whiskey. The last one is after reading a story on someone that did that and was able to sell it and buy a house!
I’d obviously do the usual toys as well.

A gold Britannia coin? Will increase in value over the years.

luckily for whatever reason one of my first thoughts as a dad was to open a savings account for him so we can drip feed into it regularly!

I remember seeing the whiskey investment which was cool, and I've just had a thought of doing a letter to him on his birthday which means nothing to him now obviously but hopefully at some point its something he can look back on

Hope this is not too late but an engraved wooden memory box is always a good idea if you have not got one already. Something you can fill things in from their first year and letters to your child and things like that and ‘regift’ it for their 18th birthday for them to open.

Savings account also a great idea!
