Depressed parent but Mum has tested positive for covid

Hi,

So I picked by boys up from school as I do every Friday. About 2 hours later I get a text from their mother saying that she got a test done 2 days before and it’s come back positive. She never said anything to me about having any symptoms or going for a test, nor did she keep the kids off of school while waiting for results.

But now what do I do? She is saying she got symptoms last Saturday and that it would be ok for me to bring the boys back home as normal tomorrow night. Or am I best to keep the boys off of school (they aren’t showing symptoms (yet) ) and keep them for the week meaning they would then have their 2 weeks since exposure.

But their mum is telling me to just bring them back tomorrow. I don’t know what to do.

She sent the kids to school whilst waiting for test results? No wonder this country is fucked.

You will need to email the headteacher and tell them mum has tested positive. They will advise the boys are kept off school and ring public health England for advice

The children need to be kept off school, but you do need to return them to their mother at the usual time.
