Hi everyone,

So I've recently found out I'm going to be a dad for the first time, I've been with my girlfriend for a year we recently moved in together and found out we're expecting. She is now 3 months gone..

Any tips and advice from first time dads out there?

I tend to spend most my time stressing about my girlfriend, or lying wide awake at night worrying about the baby!! Surely this is normal? Ha

Any advice would be good. Thanks all

Neil

I don't have any relevant advice but just wanted to say you seem lovely, and I think you'll be a brilliant Dad after reading your post.

Try to relax a bit, your OH will be worrying enough and could probably benefit from some positivity (which I'm sure you are giving).

Hopeful bump for you OP, congratulations!

Together discuss antenatel classes/ feeding baby/ Together look at prams and slings. (So you get one comfortable for you as well as mum. Before baby arrives work out how to get a car seat in and out of your cars.
Look at childcare for if/when your both at work. Some may have long waiting lists and it helps you get an idea about budget and what is workable for you. Find out if any Dads groups locally. I know of 2 around my way aimed specifically fro men, but they may not be on every weak.
