Does anyone have experience of post-divorce as an ex-full-time dad?

Holy grail right there. Still looking for that answer myself after nearly 2 years

What do you mean with "ex-full-time dad?"
That after divorce you were first the full time dad(mum not involved) and then later on mum got involved?

dbddbS · 14/05/2020 09:41

Pre-divorce, i was a full time dad for 10yrs while my wife worked full time.
Post-divorce the kids will likely live with their mother during term times. Meanwhile I'll necessarily be starting an entirely new life 100s of miles away.

Why will you be hundreds of miles away?

Beeep · 15/05/2020 01:06

.

Various reasons, but ultimately that's just how it's going to be.

@dbddbS

Sorry to hear about your situation. I have been split up from my ex wife for what will be 4 years next month and divorced for almost 9 months, we have 2 children.

So with regards to your situation, I would like to shine some light on it.

Firstly what is the distance all in all between yourself and your children?

Secondly are you in a position to maybe look into moving nearer your children which would make life easier for you both practically and of course mentally?

100's of miles must be extremely extremely hard for you. If you don't already I would recommend maybe face timing regularly maybe every 2-3 days, this may just help if you aren't already doing it.

Would be good to hear back from you to see if some form of solution can be put forward to you.

Regards

Terry
