snip snip - let's hear your experiences of those who have tied the knot!

So I've read the post that discussed the merits of the man having the snip vs condoms or the women being sterilised etc.. but I'd like to hear about the experiences of those brave souls who have undergone the procedure.
(Good or bad)

Oooh should get dh on here. He moaned and groaned for (only) a few years that it was THE most painful experience EVER. Said they didnt anaesthetise him properly so he felt everything. Ofcourse, after going through childbirth 4 times I was hardly sympathetic...

Anyway, one of his pals asked him about it last week as he is thinking of going for it, and dh said it was a doddle - took 2 seconds and it was over. Slight change of story there...

Was the best thing that 'we' did though...

And I didn't feel a thing

well my poor dh had a bad time - they couldn't "find" whatever they were looking for under local without a really good rummage, so they ended up knocking him out completely, so he had tremendous bruising, then his wound got infected....

poor man

still, much less worse than childbirth. FOUR times, so he only got the bare minimum of sympathy from me ha ha

Three vasectomy threads in as many days... People are going to think that's all we talk about in the Men's Room! That would be the unkindest cut of all.

It's when I see words like "infected" and "bruising" and "pus" that I start wondering if it would really be such a good idea.

Really, really elementary and dim question:
What happens to your "spunkability" post-snip? Is the volume/ density reduced? Or do you just produce the same amount of fluid which happens to be devoid of wrigglers?

local anaesthetic, quick snip and a couple of stitches, tight undergrunts, and down the pub for a swift one.

had to keep the dc's away from his lap but other than that piece of p!ss

My DH was very brave when I packed him off for his bollockectomy. I told the GP to "get rid of his pain but keep the swelling".

UQD re: spunkability - seems the same!! Which sucks because it would be nice to not have to change the bstard sheets all the time. Ok, not all* the time, thats another thread!!! DH says its the same - i think its the same, and it is so wonderful to not have to worry

The missus has had the snip herself when she was in for her cesaerean so i am glad that i don't have to go through it.

I had mine done last year and there has been one side affect that I have been surprised about. My libido has increased; I would say it has significantly increased in fact. Unfortunately My DW has not had a similar increase but such are the trails of marriage.

DH had his done some years ago now. We both went to the hospital (as I had to sign as well). I left there at about 2.15 as I had pick the kids up from school. Whilst walking home from school at about 3.30 he was walking towards us grinning like an idiot. I thought they'd not done it for some reason, but they had.
All he felt was a little pulling and tugging (he should be so lucky ) and that was that. They never sent him a follow up appointment - so he removed his own stitches!!
Mind you, he did 'milk-it' for some time afterwards by asking just about every female visitor if they would like to see his scar (with me frantically waving my arms at them and saying "SAY NO, PLEASE SAY NO"

My dh had his done 3 years ago, he was in and out within about 4 hours. Had no problems, said he didn't feel a thing other than tugging!! he said the "talks" he had to have before hand were alot worse! he reckons if you can do that the surgery itself it p#ss easy

I had it done and it was not too bad. Sore for a week after but not painful. Though I know of people who had problems with bleeding and infections after and that is not very nice.

Unquiet - re "spunkability" - exactly the same except that (at least in DH's case) strangely odourless. Same quantity.
