Potholes

I'm sure you have noticed the awful state of the roads. There are even potholes that need avoiding on the A2 and M2. I have recently received my council tax breakdown and took the opportunity to call the council and established that the Highways dept falls under the kent County Council section on my council tax bill and has had a 3% rise applied to it this year. I am going to withhold that 3% rise until I see some repair work being carried out. It doesn't amount to a huge amount of money but if enough people do it or kick up a stink about the roads they may get the message.

I feel your pain. I had a wheel buckled due to hitting a local pothole in December.

The problem is the roads are so bad it’s a losing battle for the councils to try to repair them when another bad winter undoes all the good work.

I watched a documentary on this the other day (sad I know!) and basically, there’s not and never will be enough money to fix the roads properly. Other stuff takes priority. I think the answer is, buy a 4wd truck and dont cycle.
