Want a man's opinion

Hi guys, sorry to intrude but I would love some male opinions on this:

basically I was having a conversation with my dp last night and he admitted that if we were to have a baby together he would think alot more of his own than he does my kids (2 boys from previous relationship) and that his own would "inevitably" be prioritised and that the money would be spent 70/30 in favour of his child (excuse being that my kids have their maintanance ) he gave an example of "Say I gave the boys £15 each I'd give mine £20"

I got annoyed with him and said he wouldnt last 5 minutes with any woman I know and he said I just didnt understand and any man would be the same....

so, is he right???

My dh read your post over my shoulder and says 'WTF'?!! Don't think I need to elaborate really...

tell him "thank you"! lol

sounds a little nasty tbh. its a difficult issue but surely he would try to treat them equally?

Do you treat someone elses children exactly the same as your own? To the point of reducing your own child's budget to pay for someone elses?

thats what I said, even if he did feel differently towards his own I would still expect 100% fair treatment...he said he wouldnt "make it obvious" and said there are times when his would inevitably be favoured.

I remember as a teen when my mum had another baby with her new husband I was completely pushed out, he made it blatently obvious that I was just an unwanted "extra" in the new family and I would hate for my kids to feel like I did...his parents also used to come down with hordes of presents for their new baby and completely blank me....I mentioned this to DP in a "what do you think of this situation.." kind of way and he said "you can't dictate to relatives what they buy" so in other words he wouldnt stop his family doing that either. He swears blind I'm being ufair and any man would be the same and I just dont understand...if all men were the same I would rather stay on my own!

Colditz if we were all living in the same house living off the same budget I would definately treat all the children the same, even if one or two were not mine

I don't think all men would be the same, no. And I do think he is demonstrating a deeply selfish streak a mile wide, especially in his assumption that all men are the same as him.

I think I would feel diferently to my children than say to my partners , however you would out of respect snd love to your partner try your best to treat them as equals.
I think your dp is being an arse and is hiding behind the comment that any other bloke would be the same? Well how would he know? Any other bloke who is an arsehole maybe....
