"Push" present for Dads, what would you like?

Dads and Dads to be, I need some advice!

We are expecting DS2 at the end of January. My DH has been amazing during this pregnancy so I want to get him something to celebrate the birth, no idea what would be good though, he's already got an Xbox and play station plus I was thinking something he can keep forever as he tends to upgrade his gaming stuff every few years.

What kinds of things would you appreciate?? Or what is an absolute no go?

If your dh is doing the pushing, I’d buy him a Lamborghini!

In seriousness though, dh and I didn’t get anything to celebrate DS’s birth, but for the first Christmas after I got him some cufflinks with DS’s hand and foot prints on. Would something like that be suitable?

A baby.

Sorry, I just realised you were looking for dad’s opinions!

Mine got a baby and to keep his genitalia intact, that's what he gets for not pushing!

Err is it really a "push present" [boak] if it's for the bloke? Mine did zero pushing and his tackle is still fine. didn't stop him moaning about how much I hurt his hand by holding it tightly

He got to be a dad and go back to work to some peace and quiet after two fucking weeks! Grin

I'd say an absolute no go would be buying a "push present" whether for the new father (who won't be doing much pushing) or the new mother.

You'd probably get less stick for calling it a little gift to say "thanks for putting up with my mood swings" or something rather than a push present.

Personally I think it's nice that you want to celebrate it with him and let him know that it's not just you and baby getting all the gifts. My DH has been a star so far and I want to get him a little commemorative gift. I wouldn't go overboard with though, maybe a little token of appreciation like a "Daddy" mug or a key ring with babies birthday on it. Most dads tend to get joke presents, like the Baby Haines Manual, when you're expecting so it's nice for something a little more thoughtful.

A computer game can be a little tricky as he might see it as a permission to play Xbox/PS4 instead of helping with baby. I mistakenly got DH a Xbox One for Xmas and he's not done any of the 'heavier' baby prep since 🤦🏼‍♀️
