Dads 40 (ish) with New Babies?

Hi,

I'm a new user to mums net and I've joined to ask you all to kindly recommend some blogs written by dads who are 40+ with babies/small children.

My husband and I have a 13 year old son. Husband is 38 and I am 33. I'd love to add to our family but he is worried that by the time I could get pregnant and have a baby (or 2!) he'd be 40+, which he worries is too old.

I disagree but I think reading and learning about the experiences of other dads of a similar age would be more helpful than my insistence!

So, I'd be really grateful for any and all blog / website recommendations, or even your own experiences if you are willing to share.

Thanks guys

Don't really know any websites but my DH was 38 when our DS was born and 41 when DD was born. I don't see him as too old.

I turned 40 a few weeks after our first was born and we had a second 3 and a half years later. I had similar worries about whether I would be too old, especially as I grew up having a Dad who wasn't especially engaged.

Its ten years on now and I'd say that, if anything they kept me young. Having a family will bring all sorts of challenges to anyone no matter how young or old. You adapt and make the most of it. It changes your life but very few Dads would say that they wish they hadn't done it and for most, I imagine its a defining experience.
