why do you think you KNOW EVERYTHING?

My computer is KNACKERED because my dh thinks he knows everything about everything and is ALWAYS going into the control panel and changing stuff. deleting software because "it is slowing up the computer". changing internet settings, deleting stuff so I have to reenter all my passwords instead of being remembered.

I can't run java, half my stuff doesn't work because they are missing vital bits

All because Mr Testosterone can't keep his hands OOOOOOOOOOOOOFF!!

WHY. Why do you do it. WHY WHY WHY

On a side note, I didn't know if you shook them hard enough they'd drop off. I will keep this in mind...

um...it must be/is clearly deeply aggravating for you....but, um..well...we don't ALL mess with EVERYTHING....I'm..well..happy enough to leave well alone...buddies of mine are too.....maybe we all missed the special "mess with everything you can lay your hands on" lessons at school....

oh, no, it's the family computer. so i suppose i ought to allow him access.....

He just won't stop messing. deleting stuff every time the computer takes more than a second to do what he wants it to. I don't just mean temp files, i mean programmes! i had java, its disappeared and i cant get it to download now! my city building game has gone!

he just goes in and deletes stuff if he doesnt know what it is!!! result - computer barely works!

i just wondered why men do this, because every man i know thinks he is a technical / mechanical genius and just keeps messing with stuff. why not just LEAVE IT ALONE

Extreme measure - change password and warn him he can only use it , bearing in mind the dog bowl treatment...should work no problem.

I work in IT support. I know how annoying it is for someone to fiddle with your pc settings. I always leave well alone until asked.

As soon as I tell people what I do, they almost always ask me IT questions about their pcs. I've started telling people I'm a policeman.

We have two...yes two redundant hard drives sitting in our hall way that dh has "over fixed"..this one hangs on by the shkin of its circuit boards and he has just had to have his computer at work repaired!!!!

Have to say, my dh doesn't have a clue about computers and usually asks me. I'm slightly more knowledgable than him, but I do mean slightly! I tell him to ask his bezzie mate, now he knows everything about computers.
