I need advice from other dads about how to teach my son to pee standing up. He is almost three.

Why?

From what I remember, this isn't something I did with my son. He remained peeing sitting down until he was older than three and then he figured it out himself. Three might be a bit young.

My oh just let ds watch him peeing. Ds has always just done it standing must have to let them get their trousers wet a few times and he worked out to push his hips forward.

Must = just

Ds peed standing up from around 3. He needed a little stool to start with and then when he was tall enough not to need it he stopped using it.
I have heard of using Cheerios,etc for aiming at in the toilet but I never did that
