Queen Ethleburgas - York

I have been to look around this school today and it seems as though they are hiding something that they didn't want to tell me about the school - does anyone have experience of this school - my son is in year 3

If you do an advanced search there have been other threads about this school ,it seems to crop up on a regular basis .

They split the school into faculty and college. However, all the students are still taught in the same class so this makes nonsense of their academic claims. They make up their own league tables so that they always appear top. They insist that their sixth form take 35 A level subjects so that their UCAS points are high (OK, slight exaggeration, but you get my drift).

We went to look round a competitor school for Open Day and there was a chinese Ethelburga looking round complaining that there were too many Chinese kids at Ethelburga's.

I too can find nothing to recommend this school. Have you thought of Ashville? It's probably best to choose a school that doesn't try to bribe you with free laptops or free uniform or a free school term as some kind of wheeze to get you to sign up.

Can you get to York? The York schools are fab.
