Family Learning for Dads

Hi all, I'm after a favour and wondered if anyone could help out. I work in Family Learning and have been tasked with putting together a one off activity event specifically for Dads, Uncles Grandads etc and the children in their families. We have very low numbers of men attending our courses, so it would be great to get more male family members involved. I was wondering if any men could tell me what kinds of activities they would find interesting to do with their kids, that don't require hiring a load of equipment. We would provide any materials for a craft or planting activity and suchlike. I know that there isn't any such thing as men or women activities, but that's the remit I've been given, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As someone who has tried to set up this type of thing the first thing you will have to cope with is the complaints that mothers/daughters are not able to come.

As for the rest it would depend on your facilities.

Oh no, daughters are welcome and if there were some mothers who wanted to come, I'd let them (without telling my boss!) I was thinking of advertising at our local junior rugby and football teams and hiring their facilities afterwards, so some kind of clubhouse. I thought about clock making perhaps? Mechanisms are relatively cheap and we could provide the faces and they could design the fronts?

I enjoyed doing baby massage which my DW had done in weekday. They had organised a dads one on weekend.
