OD is a good way to get back into the habit of dating when you've been out of the game for several years.

Even if you don't meet anyone you click with, you can brush up on your conversational skills, flirting and boost your confidence if you're a bit shy talking to strangers.

Of course, you have to be prepared to be rejected, but if you steel yourself for the worst, you can end up having a laugh, meeting lots of new people and potentially even finding a relationship.

There is still a bit of stigma about OD and there are lots of idiots doing it, but plenty of success stories too.

Btw, my DCs live with me too, spending one night a week with their dad. One night was enough to get me out and give me a chance to find out who I was when I wasn't a parenting, but if you have to pay a sitter for the odd night out its worth it.
