looking for a little inspiration. Want to do something nice for DPs first mothers day. Did anyone do anything especially nice for the first one?

That's lovely, how thoughtful :)

Some ideas:

  • if she has a charm bracelet, you could get a charm made with a print of your baby's hand or foot (online options available but be quick!), or you could get a necklace pendant.
  • on the same lines, there are lots of pottery places that will do an impression of the baby's hands and feet onto a mug, plaque, plate etc.
  • book an outdoor family photoshoot
  • flowers and chocolates are lovely
  • an engagement ring :o
  • breakfast in bed

Just a long lie-in with no baby! Maybe a card with hand or foot prints on. Breakfast in bed.

When my were babies, what I wanted more than anything on earth was sleep!!!!!

DH put a box of chocs in dd cot so when I went into get her they were there. Think I also got tea and toast and a magazine to read but that may have been year two!
I would say just a nice card and flowers would be lovely.

Pick baby up when they wake and take them out for a couple of hours.

leave a tray set in the lounge with pastries, pan au chocolat fruit juice etc and a note saying to relax and enjoy their morning.
