Are the main T.V channels missing an opportunity?

Like most people I am watching/enjoying the olympics.

But I can't help feeling that the major channels are missing a major opportunity.

Men's sports are over priced and the main channels BBC/ITV are frequently missing out on securing viewing deals.

Why don't they bid/put in an offer for the female equivalents of the sports? The olympics have shown (again) that the female equivalents are at very least as good as their male counterparts.

The BBC has shown the women's FA cup final and some of the women's world cup. Why not show the whole season?
Why not do the same with boxing/cycling/judo/BMX etc. not only would it be cheaper for the companies but it would bring in revenue for the sports and combat some of the views that are held about female sports and women in general.
