All,

I am a new dad; baby now 7 weeks old. Joined mumsnet yesterday to seek advice on relationship strain with DW.

I mostly got good honest advice from a lot of mums which will be helpful going forward. However, I was seeking out some man pov and they directed me here. Great to see this community and hope to stay on regularly.

  1. Compliments regarding DW general appearance, attractiveness etc
  2. Allow her to buy even more clothes/fashion than usual.
  3. Offer to do as much parenting as possible - she'll feel bad for not doing it and after a while let you off in which time you will have accrued many points for guilt free time off.
  4. Do some extra housework.
  5. Tell her she is doing a great job as a Mum and you are happy to be parenting with her.

Lots of patience (like that's gonna be easy!)
Bucket loads of communication
Go with the flow and roll with the punches
Do whatever you can to get as much sleep as possible (again not easy) - you'll be a lot more reasonable and kind to each other when you increase the amount of sleep you get.

Good luck:)
