Plumber's estimate

Finally persuaded one local plumber to quote for a) servicing the central heating & hot water + b)installing one new radiator. Have a small, 3 bedroom house. Estimate was £700. Seems stratospheric but maybe is par for the course. Don't live in London. HELP!

That's high

We paid £70 for a boiler service

A new rad is about £120

Add in vat and labour and you're still nowhere near £700 IMO

Agree with ruby - that is high. I guess the fat is in a). What does "servicing the central heating and hot water" mean? If it's a boiler service, then it's very high. If it is more than that, be clear on what you are actually asking for and what it involves.
Good luck :)
