What do I get for Xmas

For a wife who doesn't wear perfume, rarely wears jewellery, isn't into chocolates, and underwear is a no go zone for all sorts of reasons. Have I missed any of the usual obvious ones (I'm sure if I have they're out too)? Would really like to get her something romantic, rather than just something she's asked for or boring books, but completely stuck for ideas.

What about an 'experience'? You can get pamper experiences online and in department stores. You can buy dinners in lovely restaurants, balloon rides, all sorts.

Not really into pampering either (unless I've completely missed something). Dinner in a nice restaurant would be great - I'd really enjoy that too and happy to pay lots - but apart from not being sure how well it would go down as a present for her (I'm assuming here you meant a dinner for the two of us rather than on her own or with somebody else), one of our problems is that we've never had a babysitter for our children, so even if she could be persuaded it would be stressful.

why have you never had a baby-sitter? how old are your children?

I would love DH to take me out, but I hate the hassle of finding someone to baby-sit and wish he would do that for me.
