Please recommend a first bike helmet

I’ve bought my 3 year old a frog tadpole balance bike for Christmas, I now need to get a helmet.

Please can you recommend some good brands. Or should I take them to a bike shop after Christmas and find one? I was going to ask a relative to buy the helmet and just send them a link but don’t know what to get.

My children use Met 5 helmets but as a young toddler they just wore a character helmet from smyths or wherever.

Fit is more important that the brand. All main brands meet similar safety standards. The key is to get a good fit. Take them to a shop that knows what they’re doing.

Thank you @ShinyHatStand I wanted them to open it with the bike for Christmas but I will explain we can’t ride the bike until we have a helmet and take them to a bike shop.

I am really happy with your advice as their head measures 57cm which I see is very large for a 3 year old! It doesn’t seem to fit with the banwood style I wanted. I never learnt how to ride a bike so I really appreciate the advice, thank you.

weve always been happy with our helmets from Micro scooters - they do great sizes for little ones my little ones head measures 56cm and thats a medium
