Yes! Ive done it to death for the last 40 years. I used to mountain bike there a lot with my friends and also take kids from the youth groups I worked with when we did adventurous activities. Same with Tockholes and Roddlesworth
I love the West pennine moors

I don't know your area at all, so am no help on routes. But if you are a Strava user, have you come across Veloviewer and tile bagging / square collecting? It might be the thing you're looking for to pep up your rides.

Here's a blog about it: https://blog.veloviewer.com/veloviewer-explorer-score-and-max-square/

The basic premise is that you pay £10 a year to Veloviewer. Veloviewer sucks up your Strava data and does many pretty things with it - including laying your routes onto a map. You can then see which areas you've visited and which you have shamefully avoided. The aim of the game is to collect squares and put together as big a maximum square as possible. I am totally addicted, and dream about squares. But the thing I really like about it is that it opens up areas I've never seen, and roads I've never used. It might be of less interest in your area, where lots of squares will probably mean hiking across open access moorland (I have family not far from you and sometimes walk round there). But it might open up some areas of interest.

Another fun thing Veloviewer does is an infographic at the end of the year, with all your annual statistics in one image. Last year I cycled the equivalent of 7.5 times up Everest and as far as Kuala Lumpur! 😂

Edited to add: honestly, this post is not brought to you by a paid Veloviewer influencer - I just really love what it offers, it's changed my cycling life. 😁
