Just wondering if anyone has done this challenge? I've signed up for it for June 2025.Is the 7 mile climb really hard?

Hello @BlumminKids sounds fun! I listened to a podcast about this a while ago - think it was this one: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0TlTQi9wjTlFn2V8bkcS9L
Not entirely sure that's the right podcast though - I thought it was one from Cyclist magazine, but can't find that. I remember it being a good podcast though - very inspiring!
I haven't done this ride as I live at the wrong end of the country - so haven't done the climb in question either. I do one 200km ride once a month, so am used to that sort of distance. What sort of cycling do you normally do? Have you done 100 miles before?

On the long climb you mentioned (Devil's Beef Tub) there's a profile here: https://climbfinder.com/en/climbs/devil-s-beef-tub-moffat
which makes it look achievable; get yourself up the first bit then so long as you've got a low-ish gear then you'll be able to twiddle your way gently up the rest. And that's the highest point of the ride, so (except for the uphill bits) it's downhill from there!

Hey thanks I'll look at that! I'm reasonably new to cycling but with the right training I should be ok.
Thanks for your reply x

Fab, I do hope it all goes well for you! I'm very enthusiastic about riding that sort of distance - it's magic. The route looks like the ride will be absolutely amazing. We live in such an astonishingly beautiful country. I'm sure you will have a brilliant time, all best wishes!

Hi @BlumminKids how did you get on? I just saw on my Strava that a friend did the ride yesterday - she says it was fab!
