Toddler bike seat recommendations

I've just recently got into cycling and am looking into the best way to bring my 3 year old with me!

I've looked at rear mounted seats but i don't know how content she would be at the back. I have seen front mounted seats also but don't know anyone who has one to see if they are a good job or not! I just feel she might be happier to see the road ahead 🤷

Just looking for anyone who has experience with front mounted to help with my deciding!

Thanks in advance!

I used a Kids Ride Shotgun for my son from age 3 - 5.5. It was brilliant. He loved it. I loved having him in my arms to share the ride. We used it on and off road on our MTBs. Having a dropper seatpost was handy when stopping. We did some pretty long rides - up to 3 hours. Stops for icecream and parks obviously! I was gutted when he got too heavy for it.

We use a rear-mounted seat and a trailer, depending on where we're going/how long/other stuff to carry/terrain etc.

Until my DC was 3 I used a seat that went between me and the handlebars. It was a proper enclosed seat with straps, not a Shotgun style seat. That was brilliant until about age 3, when DC became too tall for me to be able to reach over/around him and his helmet to comfortably reach the handlebars.

My DC is now 3.5 year and regularly falls asleep in the rear seat or in the trailer. For that reason, I haven't got a Shotgun. The shotgun seats look great for really short journeys, or if your child doesn't fall asleep easily like mine!
