Is a Cube a good bike for my 16 year old grandson. He is a keen cyclist and we are thinking of helping to buy him a Cube. Do the keen cyclists on here recommend these? Thanks for any replies.

Yes, Cube is a reputable brand that makes a wide range of bikes. Maybe not as "cool" as some other brands but perfectly decent bikes.
They do make a lot of different kinds of bikes though, so without knowing which specific model your grandson is interested in and what kind of cycling he does it's impossible to give a detailed opinion, but from what I've seen of them they're generally decent quality and reasonably good value for money. My mountain bike is a Cube (a pretty basic one as I don't do a lot of mountain biking) and it's been fine. I've had it for about 4 years and it's been trouble free.

I absolutely love mine, I've had it for around 8 years now. It's lovely to ride.

It's just a basic road bike I paid around £800 for but worth every penny. My partner always goes for specialized, the one he has now is nine years old. He paid around £500 for it second hand on ebay it had originally cost almost £4000(( was seven years old by that point)) and had barely been ridden as a lot of riders collect bikes.

Its always worth shopping around for a decent, second hand bike as people often buy them with the ride to work schemes, decide it isn't for them and sell on

I have two Cube bikes and my kids have one each, I don't think you can go past them for the spec they build into the price. The road bike I have has 105 fitted as standard and Easton finishing kit, if I went for another brand within the same price range, it would have Sora or maybe a mix of Sora/Tiagra in the build. No brainer from me.
