Ebike for women

Hi.
My Dh has got an ebike and I’ve got a normal one. Been thinking whether to get an ebike. Mainly cuz we leave near hilly streets so it puts me off cycling even in my neighbourhood (the last time I ended up sick just by the thought of needing to cycle back home and not being able to do it and called fil to come and pick me up Blush)

I ve seen a few bikes that I like but it’s around the 2k mark. So ... does anyone have any suggestions of ebikes for women?

Thanks !

What kind of bike do you want? You can get E versions of most styles of bike now so I would start by deciding on what type of bike you are after and your budget and narrow it down from there. It's a bit tricky to make suggestions without knowing a bit more but I'm sure people will come up with some ideas if you can let us know a bit more about what you are after and what kind of riding you would be doing - on or off road, distances etc.

It’d be mainly a weekend bike for trips around (cycle path) rather off road. 20-30 miles max.

Orbea Ebikes are very well thought of and pretty good value for the quality. Another option at around the same price point is Ribble's hybrid.

I don't know much about their hybrid but their E road bikes have a goodcreputation and are amongst the lightest on the market, so the hybrid is probably pretty good too.
If you aren't wanting to spend quite that much I would look at the big online retailers ' own brands - Vitus for Wiggle/Chain Reaction and Pinnacle from Evans. Another budget brand that has a reputation for getting you a lot of bike for your money is B'twin, Decathalon's own brand. It looks like they have a few models at around £1000 on their website. Also Calibre - they're sold at Go Outdoors and a few other outdoor shops like Blacks. I don't know anything specific about their Ebikes but their mountain bikes are reknowned for being much better than the price would suggest so hopefully the same applies to the rest of their range.

Oops - pressed "post" too soon. Also meant to say that a friend of mine has a Wayfarer from Wisper bikes and loves it. I think she paid about £1700.
Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the info ! Orbea is made few miles from where I’m from so always known the brand.

I’ll check the other options you’ve suggested !

I’ve got a whisper, it’s lasted 10 year but now needs replacement- it was easier 10 years a go as less choice. Whisper has been very good but I wish I had a few more gear fo when not using the electric.

My friend has a vanmoof that he's very pleased with and they do a ladies model - I think it's the X3.

I am quite tempted by an electric bike and I need to test rise one I think because I still have the concerns that came from when they were so very heavy years ago.

Check out swytchbike.com. Their website has a link to a Gadget Show review and if you like your current bike this might be a cheaper option.
