Any cycling fans seen the newly published draft pro racing calendar? What do you think? Will it work?
Personally I think it is all academic as I doubt International travel is going to be allowed by August, but if they do go ahead it seems nuts to me. All 3 grand tours so close together, and a significant overlap between the Giro and the Vuelta? And speaking of the Vuelta, they would surely need to re route as this year's original route was so heavily weighted to the north with a lot of mountain top finishes. L'Angliru won't be much fun in November. Scattering the classics between the grand tours will make team selection very difficult. Not to mention the TdF overlapping with the Word Championships.Personally I think they should have cut the grand tours to 2 weeks each and reduced the other races. Presumably they've consulted the teams, but then again, this is the UCI so maybe not.
Maybe it is just a big PR exercise to give everyone hope. I doubt we will see any racing this year to be honest. The risks of all that travel and large crowds are so high. Though I did spot that Paris - Roubaix, my favourite race of all time, falls in October half term, so maybe.......Grin

do you have a link to the revised schedule?
I can't imagine any of it happening, either, mind.
