Hi. So I usually run but am constantly having injuries that I am thinking of cycling. I have borrowed a bike and today rode 10 miles which I really enjoyed. The roads are so quiet which makes me feel more confident.
Is there anything I need to set myself up? Ideally id like a new bike that I want to see if I carry it on first.
Thanks!

Pump, tyre leavers, patches, spare tube and a multi tool. Then have a practice run removing the wheel, tyre, putting a new tube in, inflating it with a hand pump, replacing the tyre and putting the wheel back correctly. There’ll be footage on YouTube if you aren’t sure. You only need to practice on the rear wheel (drop the chain in the the smallest cogs front and back first) as the front one is easy. It isn’t worth risking going out without being able to do this - you can’t rely on having phone reception to call for help. The multi tool is handy for any simple on the go fixes or tightening/ adjusting stuff. Other than carrying a snack and drink you’ll be good to go. I always carry an ‘emergency gel’ just in case I bonk (you’ll probably be familiar with that horror from running!) in addition to a snack. Happy peddling!
