Biking holiday/challenge

My 10 year old is a confident cyclist - goes to mountain bike coaching, rides 20+ miles no problem. We'd like to plan a cycling challenge for next summer holiday and are thinking about coast to coast - Blackpool to Bridlington. I have no idea how difficult that is - does it sound like a ridiculous thing to do with a (by then) 11 year old?

Not done it yet but have considered doing something similar but from Carlisle to Newcastle following Hadrian's wall route ( roughly) I think it worked out about 100ish miles altogether. Have a look at saddle skedaddle as they have an organised holiday which follows this route. I think this would be doable for a confident 11 year old especially if you break it up over 4-5 days.

We did the Coast to Coast from Whitehaven to Sunderland when our boys were 9 and 11. It was great and felt like a proper challenge! We split it into (I think) 5 days of about 20-25 miles a day and stayed in B&Bs on route, carrying our stuff in panniers. There is lots of info on the internet about the C2C as its an official sustrans cycle route.
