Advice needed on bike racks.

I’ve just got a new bike, which I can’t get into the boot of my car.

Can anyone advise me on bike racks? I have a 2 door small peurgot which is tricky for roof racks. Does anyone have experience of the boot racks?

I have the Saris bones in red - can really recommend it - www.evanscycles.com/saris-bones-3-bike-rack-00120850

I have a small hatchback too, which can only cope with two bikes, but I got the three bike model in case I ever change cars or want to use it with a friend's car for a joint trip etc. It's only marginally longer.

That’s so helpful, thanks. It would usually just be two bikes but one is enormous.

The stress of getting it into and out of my car today has made me realise I need a new plan.

If you have a tow bar then I would recommed using that theres some great racks that work on small cars, I've currently got this one which is great for 2 adult bikes and a childs, which fits great on a small ford so guessing it would work well for you too

hope this is kind of helpful

Halfords do a great rack that clamps to the boot. Easy to fit and much more secure than one that uses straps. It's around £100. Takes three bikes.

Get a towbar installed on your car - strap on back racks are notoriously dodgy.

This is great for 2 bikes, and fold up to go in the boot

Definitely recommend towbar and a Thule rack. Pricey, but the racks are very robust.

I’d recommend the Saris Bones as well - way more robust than a standard rack and easy to attach and remove. Remember you need to have a spare license plate made so you can attach if the license plate is obscured (or so the guy in the bike shop told me!).
