Muddy fox kids shoes

Does anyone have any experience of these. About to buy my 9 year old her first pair of proper shoes. Need this sort from a touring/walking round/spending the day in them shoe.

Not sure whether to just buy her a decent pair or not, she is a size 4 women's but growing like a weed.

These are cheap but I don't want cheap and horrid. Clearly the RSP is a load of nonsense!

Changed my mind after reading some reviews , have just ordered some half price giro and specialized shoes in the Evans sale for her to try. She will be wearing them for seven weeks solid on our hols in 2016 as we have planned bikes only apart from one week.

Think the giros will suit her narrow foot from the reviews I have read so fingers crossed they do. Now I just need overshoes for her.

I think the Giros are the best idea, though if she doesn't like them, ds has really liked the Specialized he had last. He currently has Spiuk which are a bit more roady - I buy his shoes on ebay as he's growing so fast. Though the next ones will be good as we'll be in the same size!

I like my DHB spd shoes, and they are very comfortable to walk in, but might be a bit wide.

Overshoes - the Northwave ones are good, but need careful putting on to stop water trickling in from the top

I think she will like the Giros best CMOT. I went for these which say they come up small so not sure if they will fit but I bought the only size they had.

I did look on eBay but couldn't find anything. My Mtb shoes are specialized and my foot is narrow so hopefully one of the pairs will work.

We have done really well in the Evans sale. Dh bought the shoes he was going to buy before Christmas at 50% off.

I quite like my overshoes, have two different brands, I will have to get them out as I can't remember what my old ones are - new ones are the BBB ones. I bought them before Christmas when I had to spend a certain amount to get £40 off, I couldn't think of anything else to add and mine are fine but a bit old. Maybe they will fit her as we are only 2 sizes different now.

I haven't had anything in the sales, but DH got a really good deal in the PlanetX closing down sale on components so is happy.

Don't mention components CMOT, I am absolutely not joking when I say that we have been getting twice weekly deliveries from Spa and SJS since September. Still ongoing too (but he has re-built one and built three other bikes in that time).

I am married to someone who thinks expensive shoes are a but of a splurge but a few very expensive bikes .... definitely not. Slightly concerned that after my op he is now going to Mercian alone at the weekend though. But there are worse things I suppose.

Ds' Muddy Fox shoes (both MBT and Road) were fine.

I found Sports Direct were best for small sizes at reasonable prices. I just had to thole the fact that they use Yodel for deliveries

Really narrow foot here - am currently awaiting delivery of the Evans order.

Ds' feet aren't wide per se but he does have a very high instep.

I'm sure Sports Direct also do other brands - it's always worth looking there to see what small sizes they do.

Sorry, meant to say, but ds' feet definitely aren't narrow.

Thanks, I will see how she gets on with the two brands I have ordered. Narrow feet are a bit problematic sometimes.

We have the opposite problem - dh's feet are so wide that only the Lake wide fit will go on his feet. Which are £££ and hard to come by as well.

DS has high and wide feet too which are a pain

I wish there was such thing as a cycling kids clothes swap when I needed them - maybe we could start one .... a bit late for me really though because DD is now in the biggest childrens size padded shorts and I have started buying her a womens size 8 in tops and tights.

There is a preloved childrens cycling clothes group on Facebook which started out of the Islabike sales group. Not terribly busy there, but has allowed me to get rid of some of ds's stuff.

I am not on Facebook , probably the most tempting offer I have had to join though. I have sold our stuff at the CTC, but never managed to buy anything!

Very disappointing order from Evans - the Giro shoes are really lovely but the soles are much too rigid for our needs - can't imagine DD walking around all afternoon in them at all.

The other ones might be OK (better soles) but even the next size up is small so I have just ordered two sizes up - only problem being that they have mesh panels (quite a few of them).

Not sure if this will be a problem or not. I have looked at my day shoes, same brand, and they have mesh panels, just fewer. Concerned about warmth/water ingress.

Even DH's in his usual size are too small as well and they have been discontinued/sold out everywhere. He should have just bought them before the sales started.

Success in the shirt department - three reduced womens cycling shirts for DD, thankfully they are keepers!

Success with the Altura winter tights for DS (almost 8yo). Size 5-6yo are a good fit for him -- well I think so. DH says they are still too baggy!! :).

I bought two reduced Altura tops for me last week and they are tiny. I am a 10/12 and bought a 14 and they feel suffocating! Maybe that is why they are 1/3 of the original price? No idea.

We had success with the specialized shoes for DD, up two sizes though, which are exactly the same size as her Wms Merrells two sizes down! They will be great in the summer but I felt that I had to buy some half overshoes for them for anything but warm days.
