I don't understand.

Why would they do that?

Can Yorkshire have it again instead, d'you think? We did a pretty good job.

Yesterday it was said to be TFL's decision and today it is Boris who has, personally, pulled the plug. Tfl presumably wanted Boris to admit it was him so he is all over the TVs today - complete with bike! Apparently they want to spend the money saved - millions£ - on improved safety for cyclists. This may not be a bad thing. Shame it is either/or.

It made perfect sense from the news item I watched earlier. Way too expensive. Money could be spent better elsewhere.

I think the money was worth it for Yorkshire, as they got a huge amount of international coverage that they wouldn't have otherwise, which pulls in tourism and specifically cycle tourism.

But is it worth London spending £32 million to do it? No, I don't think they'd get that back
