Older Language Students - Social Groups

Quick intro - Accountant with slightly boring job, I live out in the middle of the country in Ireland. After my divorce, I have rediscovered my love of languages from when I studied French and Spanish in University. I have been studying Russian for two years now (please don’t get me wrong, this is not political - I just appreciate beautiful languages with challenging grammar!).

I do find, however, that none of my peers share my interest in languages. I went to a local Spanish club to practice speaking and to be honest it was mainly for retired Irish. couples who own homes in Spain - so nothing in common there. Also, many of the language apps available like Tandem seem geared towards a much younger crowd.

I would love to find a forum or some kind of online group dedicated to people over 50 who love languages (any languages) and like to share learning tips, conversation exchange and recommendations regarding study breaks abroad (this is another realm where older students are not well represented).

Can anyone help me?

There's a Meetup group for French conversation. I can't guarantee the ages of the participants (!), but there might be some people there over 50. I attended one session at the Advanced level.
You might check Meetup for other groups.
Good luck! Bon courage! Buena suerte!
