I am no prude, but I am amazed at the amount of swearing, in posts, on this site, with the F word used commonly and the C word also reared its head earlier. Can people not articulate their thoughts without resorting to it

A lot of people say that it's a lack of vocabulary that makes you swear. Rubbish. I know thousands of words but I still prefer "fuck".

Nobody needs to swear, we just like to. You could learn to love it too if you just gave it a chance.

Come now, surely you get that it is the very taboo nature of the words, and the potential shock value that is the point.

This is why I think that weird constructions like wankbadger and cockwomble don't achieve anything like the sheer venom and power of the proper expletives.

Then we have the ultimate taboo word “cunt”, full of power and danger, as it should be. This Is where life comes from!

Also, “Fuck” is one of my favourite all purpose words - expletive, oh fuck; noun, shall we have a fuck? verb, they were fucking; adjective, that's fucking gorgeous… it has a multitude of applications, the imperative, fuck off; the insulting, fuck you; expressing wonder, what the fuck? expressing defeat, we're fucked; express disdain, I don't give a fuck…
sooo many more.

Have you watched 'In the thick of it?' Of you haven't, watch a 5 minute clip on YouTube. Do you not understand that swearing is seasoning?

Just like some people think mayonnaise is too spicy, and vanilla ice cream is too outrageous, some see adults swearing as something deserving a pearl clutch.

The rest of us live in the fucking real world where people are fucked literally and metaphorically every day, and namby pamby Sunday-school minced oaths won't get you far.

I struggle. I didn't have the benefit of a good education sadly and I'm also autistic so being articulate is very hard for me. I find it much easier to use 'fucking' than I do proper descriptions. It makes the same point in the end.

Never mind, CocoFifi. You have to imagine them swearing aloud. Some of them are very middle class in here and they don''t swear properly. They enunciate perfectly, even the -ing at the end of f*ing. It's hilarious to hear.
