Poncey foreign plurals

I can't help wincing if I hear someone talking about posting on internet "fora". Or ordering a "panino".

Surely once a word has been assimilated into English we should just use standard English plurals.

Maybe I should have just posted in aibu...

My children ask 'please may we have granite' because my DH reckons he can speak Itslian and was once mistaken for an Italian, so fab is his accent. Ahem.
