Do you assume or azzume?

I've noticed that dd has started azzuming, which I find odd. Trying to work out where she got it from -presumably school (which is fairly posh. Is this a posh thing?)

I'm Swedish but have only heard of 'assume' - never 'azzume'!
FatalCabbage · 23/06/2014 18:41
I've encountered assume and ashume but never azzume - and I know lots of vair posh people.
Onesleeptillwembley · 23/06/2014 18:53
Never heard azzume. And no, it definitely wouldn't be posh.
AdoraBell · 23/06/2014 18:57
I assume.
If I azzumed I couldn't make an ass out u and me
TalcAndTurnips · 23/06/2014 22:21
Sounds more West Country than posh when I say azzume out loud.
Über-RP would be more 'assyume' wouldn't it?
MardyBra · 23/06/2014 22:36
Oh yes, the Queen would probably sound like she was sneezing at high pitch or something: "Aaaass - Hume".

I have been heard the word "assume" read as "azzume" by our teacher in history who trained us and told us about Gen. Paulino Santos....

Commonly used in starting to fulfill the duty for the first time....
