Coldplay - X and Y is good but it took a few listens before it really grew on me.

Another vote from me for James Blunt & his haunting voice.

In my car cd changer:

Coldplay (but only really like a copule of the tracks)
Gorillaz
Jose Gonzalez (singer and guitarist, lovely)
Laura Cantrell (country singer)
The Cinematic Orchestra (old but fab)
the Magic Numbers

Dh likes the White Stripes at the mo...
I am into lush pop (I suspect you might not be Lou...), so my choice of listening is

  • The Isis Project
  • St Etienne's new one Turnpike House, plus their ancient Greatest Hits compo Too Young to Die
  • Manhattan Transfer Pastiche (only for confirmed fag-hags)
  • Pink Martini Hang on Little Tomato

If I feel like wigging out a little I stick on The Arcade Fire, or step back in time with This

Emod · 11/07/2005 12:19

ooh I want that ST Etienne one

lou33 · 11/07/2005 12:21

omg, have just seen there's a new Eric Matthews album out! If you haven't heard him before, I really recommend taking a listen.

TinyGang · 17/07/2005 11:54

Monkeytrousers - Ooh Brian Eno - I like his old stuff (My Life in the Bush of Ghosts). Is the new album along those lines?

Love your name btw - whenever I see it I always think of how Vic says it!

monkeytrousers · 17/07/2005 18:02

Cheers Tinygang!

Haven't herad the one you mention. I'm an Eno 1st timer. It's very innovative. Should be listened to in the car or with headphones first though so you can hear all thats going on.
