Creative Writing Courses - ever done one?

Yes, I did one on Skyros, and would have done an Arvon one too, only a week away from dd is a bit much right now.

But there's no guarantee that a good writer is a good teacher - I love Tobias Hill, and would willingly sit and listen to him for 3 days, but you'd have to pay me to get me to sit through Jeanette Winterson. She doesn't strike me as having enough empathy or patience to be able to teach.

Now I feel like such a bore, I didn't even leave my job after mine...

I think that courses are really good if you're starting out, or if you have a novel or something on the boil; otherwise, I've got a lot more out of a regular writing group.

i am thinking of doing an open un iversity one i think they look better value

all these week with srtange folk locked up together are life changing ime

i have done sailing, diving etc too and same effect

I did one at a local college, it was rubbish.
Arvon are good though.

Start my open uni one in september cannot wait....its part of my degree in literature and would recommend open uni anytime!
