Culture vultures- advice on seats at the royal opera house?

Hello, I’d really appreciate opinions on choosing seats for opera at the royal opera house Covent Garden. Planning to take dh. How much do we need to pay for decent seats?
also, has anyone done any of the tours?

You don't have to pay top whack - the sound in the Amphitheatre is really good so if you can sit as centrally and as far forward as you can, you'll get a decent enough view.

For more of the Royal Opera House experience, imo the best value top price tickets are front row Stalls Circle, where the curve of the horseshoe starts to straighten. You get a good view of the stage, the sound isn't slightly deadened by the overhang as it can be towards the back, and you have a really good view of everyone in the Stalls so can people and outfit spot to your hearts content!

I've done the backstage tour before and really enjoyed it.

I've just booked for Ariodante and am sure there is a facility where you can see the view from your chosen seat. I just booked a ticket at ENO, so apologies if I've muddled the 2.

Is it the website “view from my seat “? I’m not sure if that shows the seats in that place but it does other venues ?

This was my seat and the view from ROH website. Very high up but view and sound was fine.

Are you tall? Consider aisle seats if so for legroom.

I no longer live in the UK but when I regularly went to the ROH, I always chose to sit at the back of the stalls circle at the sides. Didn't break the bank and good sightlines and sound.
