Does it bother you when you hear a band and you think they sound very very similar to an old band?

I thought there was a loud-voiced tub-thumping music contingent on this site?

i don't understand

you are using some words that don't mean anything

pointydog · 16/05/2008 21:08

what? what do you mean?

'Shout out louds' is the name of a band who I happen to have heard on teh radio a bit and they sound just like The Cure. And at first I thought, oh honestly, they are just copying The Cure. And then I thought, I like the song so I don;t care.

Blimey, how many Cure copy(Love)cats are there exactly atm? I can think of at least three others.

pointydog · 16/05/2008 21:16

there's also that new Glasgow band (can't remember the name just now) who sound exactly like Orange Juice. But Orange Juice were marverllous.

Ah, no arguments there. Love Orange Juice.

As to the question of whether a very obviously derivative sound bothers me, I have to say it doesn't unless they are copying a shit band. (Or they are Oasis).
