What cultural experiences have you got planned for the summer (for yourself and/or with children)?

I am woefully out-of-the-loop, so am hoping for lots of good ideas from bang-up-to-date Mumsnetters!

Re DrW - exactly the same here, so in good company!!

Sadly no MacB this season, and I agree with your ds, it would be an ideal one.

they are doing Wizard of Oz somewhere in the South Bank this summer (and will have workshops to go with it no doubt...)...if you like that sort of thing Earlybird

You've all given me lots of ideas, and feel now that we won't have time to do all the wonderful things on offer.

EB, depending on when you're coming over, I saw a bit about the Telectroscope today - which I will most definitely be taking at least ds to. Runs until June 15 I think - and in New York as well! - so maybe you could see it there, depending on whereabouts you get to.

Done by the same people who did the Sultan's Elephant - did you see that? - the several-stories-high automaton that did a parade?

for adults, I've got tickets to Black Watch at the Barbican Theatre in late June

Not culture, but would recommend swimming at Parliament Hill Lido in warm weather

This week I am going to skin and bones

Bink - thanks for thinking of me/us. We plan to arrive in London the last day of June, and will stay for 3 weeks, so will barely miss the Telectroscope which is a real shame. We saw the Sultan's Elephant (on 2 different days), and it was a magical thing in central London.

We're going to visit NYC friends in October, so perhaps we can see Telectroscope then.

Please keep an eye out for anything during our London time frame that perhaps we could do together. Would be lovely to see you (and dh), and fun to get the dc together too.
