Bless me, MNers, for I am a hick... it's been fifteen years since I lived in London.

We're taking DD and DS (6 & 4) to London in the non-Easter hols and were thinking of a matinee of the Lion King - just been quoted £60-something a ticket which, for us four country mice and our city aunt and uncle comes to - well, you do the math - a lot.

Someone must be able to tell me the savvy thing to do to get to see a show like this without remortgaging. Please, you metropolitan goddesses, look kindly on us bumpkins with our provincial budgets.....

They usually have tickets for most performances of the Lion King at the reduced ticket price booths in Leicester Square.

You may also get lucky and get some from the half price ticket office, but I'm not sure on the opening times for that.

Sounds right , Mary Poppins cost about £30 for a matinee last summer, up at the top. Had a deal with kids half price for selected perfomances/seats

www2.disney.co.uk/MusicalTheatre/TheLionKing/boxoffice/buytickets.jsp That seems to be top whack , could probably go for cheaper seats.

thanks - will maybe leave it until the day and hope to get lucky at the booth (best not tell the DKs in advance tho)

We went to the Lion King last week as part of a group. Obviously we got a discount but we sat in the rear stalls, the view was fine and the face value of our seats was £35.

There was a queue for returns which I was told probably wouldn't get in. I had 5 spare tickets which were sold to the 1st people in the quue at group rate so they got lucky.

Fantastic show by the way, amazing costumes.
