When was the last time we had a go at Haiku?

17 syllables in three lines, divided 5 - 7 - 5, I think.

'Want to have a go?
Why not see how well you do.
Come and join me, please.'

PMSL

Haiku is so popular.

But no, my dear, I would be crap at it.

A crash reduces
My expensive computer
To a simple stone...

slayerette · 10/02/2008 19:05

I wrote this one during a lesson while all my Yr 7s were writing a haiku about Skellig (book by David Almond about weird man in garage who turns out to be some kind of angel):

Frozen bones, pale face,
The black suit of death - but see!
Angel wings unfold.

I don't like the 'but see!' bit but didn't have time to change it cos they'd all finished and wanted me to read their poems!

I hate my mother
Will my lovely kids one day
despise me as much?
