as spring is nearing
i try to compose haikus
but MN instead

A crash reduces
My expensive computer
To a simple stone...

I wrote this one during a lesson while all my Yr 7s were writing a haiku about Skellig (book by David Almond about weird man in garage who turns out to be some kind of angel):

Frozen bones, pale face,
The black suit of death - but see!
Angel wings unfold.

I don't like the 'but see!' bit but didn't have time to change it cos they'd all finished and wanted me to read their poems!

I hate my mother
Will my lovely kids one day
despise me as much?

My stomach was big
but I could not stop scoffing
Now it is massive

End of the weekend
back to school in the morning

The house is quiet
The girls are in bed asleep
My tummy's rumbling!

Haikus are bollocks
They really are contrived shit
Five syllables -Pah!

My washing machine
lived much longer with Calgon.
Now it's cocking dead

The sunday night blues
four sweet girls are all grumpy
roll on next friday

ds and dh
coming from the bathroom now
how long till boy sleeps?

Mumsnet is Evil
I thought I'd quit it for lent
It dragged me right back.

My baby's all grown
Aunty flo has come calling
Oh my sweet darling

Now my oven beeps
But still I stay on Mumsnet
My roast pork will burn
