Are you all still keen on having a poetry club?

Having had quite a few mails recently about the increasing number of topics and headings in Talk we've come to the conclusion that - unless it's a very important topic we've missed - we can't start any more topics/headings without losing an existing one first. So we've been checking thro for those existing sections that are a bit underused and wondered how keen folks are to keep the Poetry Club going, or whether they'd really miss it? Please let us know, we certainly wouldn't want to take it away if it's helping folks, but if you feel it's ready to be "rested" for a while we'd happily archive this stuff and let it stop. Please make your views known!

I want a poetry club
it is just finding the time.......

SoupDragon · 10/11/2004 09:46

Can't poetry be covered by the creative writing club?

popsycal · 10/11/2004 09:48

isnt it in there already?

coppertop · 10/11/2004 09:49

It would make sense just to move the current Poetry Club threads over to the Creative Writing section IMO.

i agree with coppertop....
i always thought they were in there anyway,,,,??

anorak · 10/11/2004 10:11

I thought it was a great idea when it was started. But because the first 20 or 30 posts were all those awful poems posted to be jeered at, I didn't post. I thought I would let some time go by before trying to start a discussion about a serious piece. I would still like to do so though. Could you leave it for a few more weeks and see what happens? My schedule should let up enough in a week or two for me to give it a try. If it is still so under-used after that then perhaps it would be best to re-absorb it into the creative writing club.

and i now agree with anorak!!

As far as I'm concerned you can put it in creative writing and delete all the crap I posted at the beginning (after I asked for it to be created and made it clear what I was going to post BTW). But I really hope we won't get those horrible poems in SN.
