I thought it was time to move over here from Telly Addicts as we're now discussing Joseph the musical, and not Any Dream Will Do. The other thread was about to get too full anyway.

Is DP the politics reporter with the big ears and glasses ?

LoonyLyraLovegood · 25/07/2007 17:27

No, no glasses.

OP posts:
LoonyLyraLovegood · 25/07/2007 17:40

He does have big ears though.

Berrie · 25/07/2007 17:53

Who have you met then GlamLyra? Famous I mean?

LoonyLyraLovegood · 25/07/2007 17:58

Tony Blair i guess would be the most famous. I interviewed him, with two other reporters, years ago. Bloody nerve-wracking.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 25/07/2007 17:59

This thread is getting less and less about Joseph

OP posts:
Berrie · 25/07/2007 18:05

What was he like?

Berrie · 25/07/2007 18:07

Have you met old Gordy then?

Berrie · 25/07/2007 18:08

Boing is swiftly demoted on glamour stakes...

LoonyLyraLovegood · 25/07/2007 18:15

TB was very nice. haven't met GB but did get a Christmas card from him last year, addressed to DP, not me.
I just shoehorned myself into a dress which was quite roomy last year. Damn those Hob Nobs.

OP posts:
Berrie · 25/07/2007 18:17

And who are you 'hob nobbing' with tonight then...tee heee?

Berrie · 25/07/2007 18:20

Slayerette are you always so obedient?

Berrie · 25/07/2007 18:21

Oggs, remind us about when you are leaving and when you are seeing the show and whether you will still be able to talk to us?

oggsfrog · 25/07/2007 20:54

Going away on Saturday, going to lust after Lee on the 7th August

Technically will still be able to talk (on broadband no less ), but will not get much chance, and I will be on holiday don'tcha know, so will probably not log on very often.

Fear not though, I will post a blow by blow account of my evening with Lee and his amazing hairycovered thighs . It won't be on the 7th though, as we will be driving back to Wiltshire after the show.

By the way, how long is the show?? (Where's Binkle when you need her )
I'd got it as 2 hrs including the interval, but I read somewhere that it was 2 and a half hours.
My poor bloody Dad , not much fun hanging around for us, then having a 3hr journey back at that time of night.

Berrie · 26/07/2007 10:36

How are you feeling Lyra?

I dreamt that I went to see the show last night. The theatre was unbelievably tiny. ALW was also sitting on the front of the stage, legs over the edge, joining in. We had a hymn sheet and all sang a hymn half way through and...it was rubbish. I didn't even get a good look at Lee in the dream. I remember thinking about letting you all know in the morning that I had been the night before and how you woudn't believe it!

BoingBoing · 26/07/2007 10:44

ahem! I'm just as glam as Lyra donchaknow. I even met the chairman of our Cattle Breed Society! Beat that, Lyra!!! Tony Blair? Who he?

LoonyLyraLovegood · 26/07/2007 10:47

Boing, you are far more glam than I because you wear stilettos and i do not.
I'm fine this morning. I managed to force down a fair few glasses of champagne but crucially I stopped drinking at 10.30pm, whereas the previous night I'd carried on till 1am (fool).
I've been trying for about two hours to get the boys dressed and out of the house but I keep finding things I have to do first, like check MN.

Out would be good, were it not for the pouring, pouring rain...
Hey I've done some ironing though! Just need to summon up the strength to put it away now.

Oggs, have a lovely, lovely holiday if we don't see you again before you go! Give our bestest luuuurve to Lee and don't forget to dedicate one of your claps from us!

LoonyLyraLovegood · 26/07/2007 11:07

I don't understand this ironing lark, life's too short. You soon get used to crumpled clothes

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 26/07/2007 11:23

You're right of course Lyra, even the [green] wellies have heels

Ironing I view as a just-in-time process, particularly when Jeeves has the day off.

And Oggs, I hope you have a fab time!

Berrie · 26/07/2007 11:52

But Lyra, how can you put lippy on every day but wear it with a crumpled outfit? Am I missing something? Do you all really not do ironing?

Berrie · 26/07/2007 11:54

Did Tony not remark that people usually made more effort?

BoingBoing · 26/07/2007 12:22

I seriously only iron just before I need something. Storage space at the moment means I'd only have to iron it again anyway!

Berrie · 26/07/2007 14:05

Yes I suppose that's what I did when I was working.

slayerette · 26/07/2007 15:01

No, I am being cunning, not obedient. It's one of those warfare tactical thingies - I have stayed away from the pooter for a couple of days and done good wifely things like baking and tidying and talking to dh and now I am going to everso subtly slide back into my MN habit and I bet he won't really notice.
