I Took His Hand

My dishes went unwashed today,
I didn't make the bed,

I took his hand and followed
Where his little footsteps led.

Oh, yes, we went adventuring
My little child and I.

Exploring all the great outdoors
Beneath the sun and sky

We watch a robin feed her young.
We climbed a sunlit hill.

Saw cloud-sheep scamper through the sky.
We plucked a daffodil.

That my house was so neglected,
That I didn't sweep the stairs,
In twenty years no one on earth will know...or even care.

But that I've helped a little child
into noble adult grow,

In twenty years the whole wide world
Will look...and see...and know.

SM, totally agree. I said I would post all these pukey poems to this section so I don't have to read them in other threads

I'm hormonal today, so everything is, well... erm.... tear-worthy.

Davros · 12/09/2004 21:23

Well some people like these poems, which I've no objection to, I'd just rather there was a special place for them and then we can all choose whether to visit....
It will be Coddy's favourite section for a larf!

lol @ scummy!

have to say i hate this type of poem and especially this sub-type which suggests that you have to be a slattern to be a good mother.

More like:

"My dishes went unwashed today.
I didn't make the bed.
I switched on the computer,
And Mumsnet'ed instead."
