Hello

Has anyone seen this on UKTV? uktv.co.uk/index.cfm/uktv/britainsbest.index

I love historical sites, and as i'm from the south I will be voting for Stonehenge - i've had so many lovely family days out there!

Ruth

I just checked out the site, and it's really interesting. I know what you mean about Stonehenge, but when I last went - admittedly many years ago - you couldn't get near the stones, and I actually felt a bit underwhelmed. I think if I could have walked among them I would have enjoyed it more.

That's why I love Avebury

We went to Stonehenge a couple of years ago and sadly, it didn't live up to my 30yo memory of it. I'm sure they've shrunk!!! When I first went you just parked at the side of the road and scrambled across a meadow until you were close enough to hug the stones. Now, you're kept at arm's length and the place is full of bored American school pupils and equally bored Japanese pensioners. I know it has to be tightly monitored now but it still made me

Avebury is indeed lovely, we enjoyed that trip much more.
