I am doing a plan for a class project on Rachmaninov's Isle of the Dead. As a finale I want the children to compose their own piece for another painting by Bocklin. The only one that I have found that would be suitable for them shows a black horse and rider going past a ruin (possibly a church, which is lit by moonlight) the rest of the painting is dark and brooding.

here it is

But as you can see there is no title. Can anyone help?

Not here

Tada , Moonlight landscape with ruin.

Thanks Skribble - I don't think the artist named his own pieces - am I right?

It would be great to let the children give the piece and the painting their own name. Which would lead to more exciting compositions.
