Art Appreciation

I'd like to know something about art. Are there any online courses or resources that might enable me to do this in a structured way?

Free would be good to start with as I'm known for starting new interests and getting bored easily

I would start by trawling through BBCiplayer's Arts section - there are a lot of programmes about visual arts on there.
You will start getting an understanding about styles/movements/artists/techniques etc which you could then follow-up on-line.

Also, the Tate has short talks on artists and their works, as does the Royal Academy.
